The wonderful wisdom of God is seen in the fact that He has not given us one composite record of the life and teachings of Jesus, but four separate records that present Him in four distinct aspects.
Matthew presents the King, Mark the Servant, Luke the Man, and John the Son of God. How significant that the gospel that presents Jesus as the Man has most to say about His prayer life, and His teaching on prayer. It also contains parables on prayer found nowhere else. Why?
Man is dependent on God. It was as man that Jesus expressed His utter dependence upon God in prayer. It was as man He drew down the resources of His Father through prayer.
