The great thing, if one can, is to stop regarding all the unpleasant things as interruptions of one's "own", or "real" life. The truth is of course that what one calls the interruptions are precisely one's real life - the life God is sending one day by day; what one calls one's "real life" is a phantom of one's own imagination. This at least is what I see at moments of insight; but it's hard to remember it all the time.
- C. S. Lewis, The Quotable Lewis
Training will not be an interruption of my life. Training will be my life, if only for a time.
"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven." - Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV)
"That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil - this is the gift of God." - Ecclesiastes 3:13 (NIV)
"So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." - 1 Corinthians 10:31 (NIV)
The next 9 months of training will also be a good time to fast from the internet (on weekdays) and spend more time reading the Bible and praying.
"For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come." - 1 Timothy 4:8 (NIV)
